Award-Winning Book about European Citrus Wrappers Published

Member Dirik von Oettingen has written an award winning book about European citrus wrappers that contains 500 color illustrations. The 2007 German book award was for one of the best in art- exemplary in design, concept, and fabrication. It is written in German and titled Verhulit um zu verfuhre: Die Welt auf der Orange which translates to Veiled to Seduce - The World on the Orange. The book's international identification code is ISBN 978-3-930752-47-8.

Dirik suggests that his book should be worthwhile even for someone who does not read German. He says "The iconography of European citrus wrappers is quite related to the iconography of California citrus box labels." This illustration is a lemon wrapper with an ornate design including a Native American. It has been used for decades by the Spanish producer Beniajan in Murcia. Contact Dirik at oettingen@t.online.de
